Women and girls form half of the world's population and typically work for about two thirds of all the working hours in the world work, yet there has been social, economic and political discrimination against women over a long longperiod of time.
The causes of inequality, injustice and discrimination are directly linked with some old religious beliefs and with a complex historical process. Even though the role of a woman as a housewife, a mother or a sister is significant and even though women can do almost any work as proficiently as men do, women are considered inferior beings; they do not really count in the larger society. They generally hold a subordinate position and are dominated by men.
Though attitudes have shifted considerably due to education and due also to women movements in recent times, yet even now women are not given due regard or the rightful place in society. The idea about the inferiority of women has become ingrained in the minds of men and finds expression in their day to day life, behaviour and oral or written expression. Men have a tendency to dominate women and to consider women as things of as objects of sex. This kind of attitude towards women leads to tension, debasement of morals and to crime.
It is, therefore, essential to impart education which draws a person's attention to the soul rather than the body, to one's moral and mental qualities rather than one's physical weakness of a sort. It is now time that men accept the equality of women in the society. May, it is time to give women a higher place and a better role in the society in order to bring a qualitative change. Women will definitely prove to be of help in establishing peace due to their special qualities.
Over the past many years women all across the world have kind of woken up to their rights and have smashed established and long held and cherished glass ceilings across almost every domain of work life, in almost any and every field, be is science and technology domains, space exploration, management and corporate domain, the social and media domain, you name it, woman have entered new fields and made a name and place for themselves a decade ago the percentage of woman at the board level of companies was miniscule. In the last ten years we have close to 40% of women in corporate boardrooms of india. we may soon have legislation mandating atleast 50% of seats in the board for woman.
In line with the city woman, the woman of village too has changed, evolved with the times, with access to media and technology devices, she is far more knowledgeable today than a decade ago.
We play a significant role in this development of women by lending her the tools, techniques and playground to go forth and succeed in any endeavour in which she would like to shine. These tools and techniques are part of the core Rajayoga knowledge base which helps women to take over her powerful role as the creator and nourisher of man and his family, her community in which she lives and the larger society she is part of.
Youth empowerment with a special emphasis on building self-esteem and positive self-outlook with well-rounded and sound personality is also a key focus area for this foundation in line with its goals. We consider youth as the wealth of our present and our future and hence every conscious effort is made to ensure that every person, every youth, every young soul learns and understands his own intrinsic self-worth and power . We help unleash the power of youth, guide its abundant energy along moral and spiritual grounds so they are able to experience the happiness and stability of a mature and sensible mind, respond positively to even unkind events and in short become masters of their minds and their own worlds. Creative and morally strong youth is our gift to our motherland.
